Everyone Loves Apples
When we moved to Oregon in 2001 we brought with us the tradition of organizing a group of friend to go Apple picking. Some times it has been a big production, other times it has been pretty laid back and casual. Last year we rented a big commuter van and hauled back a ton of apples. This year it was much more laid back. Small group of close friends getting together to enjoy the fresh Mt. Hood air. We caravaned up from Portland to Kiyokawa Family Orchards and picked jonagold, elstar, honey crisp and gala apples along with fresh pressed apple cider. Then headed back to our place to peal, core, fill and bake 6 apple pies. There is nothing better than apple pie made from apples that were picked only a few hours ago. Check out our photos on flickr.

Looks like you guys had fun. The Stewart’s were too pooped after soccer, the noon games really mess up Saturday’s. Next year!
